Rising R&B vocalist, dancer and TikTok star Zaria has gone viral by shredding multiple Metallica songs, responding to users who questioned her knowledge of the band after she wore one of their shirts in a video.
One of those comments mockingly asked her to “name 3 songs” by the band, an oft-repeated request of dorks who can’t imagine a woman sincerely enjoying the music of literally one of the most popular metal bands of all time.
In a video responding to that comment, Zaria said, “Really? Only three songs? How about I play them on guitar for you?” She then proceeded to rip through segments of ‘Master of Puppets’ and ‘Enter Sandman’ along with some killer finger-tapping from ‘One’. It absolutely rules, and it’s just about the best way one could possibly respond to a question that condescending.

“Social media does not do a very good job of showing the full range of who someone is,” the singer concluded in the video. “I am a huge Metallica fan and I grew up playing guitar. Just because I sing R&B music doesn’t mean I can’t like metal.”
She didn’t stop there, though. Further videos saw Zaria performing the solo from ‘One’ as well as segments from other ‘tallica classics including ‘Battery’, ‘The Unforgiven’ and ‘To Live Is To Die’.
In a video posted yesterday, the TikTok star thanked her followers for the support after the videos were written about by multiple publications.
“A little over a week ago I posted a video that has kind of changed my life,” she says. “I never expected the video to blow up, but basically what happened, I was wearing a Metallica shirt and some guy was like, ‘Name three Metallica songs.’
“So, clearly I am a very big Metallica fan and my goal now is actually to get the band to see it,” she added, asking followers to tag the band on social media.
