A Mysterious Countdown Has Appeared On Metallica’s Website

No, Metallica won’t be going ahead with their planned Australian tour but that doesn’t mean the band don’t have exciting stuff planned. A cryptic countdown has appeared on their website, meaning something is bloody coming.

The countdown was revealed via social media with just a simple link titled ‘metallicaxx‘ leading people to believe it is associated with the 20th anniversary of the band’s iconic S&M concert – which featured the band’s music with beautiful symphonic accompaniment.

The aforementioned Australian tour was scheduled to go ahead next week, but the band recently had to pull the plug on it – citing James Hetfield’s ongoing battle with addiction and treatment process as the reason why it couldn’t go ahead.

“As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years,” the band revealed in a statement.

“He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.”

The tour was also meant to feature Slipknot, who said that they endeavour to get their way to Australia as soon as possible.

Metallica’s countdown is slated to end at midday AEDT, so stay tuned to find out what’s happening once it hits zero.
